The copywriter works as part of a creative team, he mostly works with the art director in order to develop, create and implement advertisements. Copywriting means using the words to promote an idea, a person or an opinion. The copywriter is responsible for the advertisement's textual or verbal content, which includes receiving the copy information from a client. Copywriters must be creative and have to come up with slogans that can persuade people to purchase a product. Copywriters need to write concisely and persuasively, because the advertising time and space is usually limited and very expensive.


Copywriters have to be flexible in order to write in many styles like humorous, emotional or whimsical. Some of the activities of a copywriter include meeting with the account management team in order to discuss the client requirements and products, working in a partnership with the art director to generate various concepts and ideas, submit these ideas and discuss the progress with the creative director before presenting the final project to the client, and finally a copywriter has to be up to date with the latest trends and culture.
