Rail Yard Engineer Resume

Rail yard engineers usually learn the insights of the work while doing it. Their daily tasks include coupling and switching locomotives, train cars, engines and other different parts and moving them within the rail yard. They usually do this by using a small locomotive called a dinkey and by operating track switches. They have to be attentive at different types of signals, flags, lights and position signals. They collaborate with conductors and rail engineers through radio-telephones or computerized devices in order to communicate relevant information.

Rail yard engineers have to stick to working schedules and perform their duties with responsibility in order to contribute to safe and proper operations with railroad equipment.
