Dental Assistants are professionals, who have tasks assigned by a dentist in various medical settings. Dental Assistants have to entertain patients while waiting, they have to update patient's files, schedule appointments, receive payments or purchase dental supplies.
The work elements of a Dental Assistant refer to sterilizing and preparing the dental instruments for a dentist, performing x-ray for various patients, assisting dentists during dental procedures, recording the patient's dental history or cleaning removable appliances. Among these duties, Dental Assistants inform patients about plaque control and how to perform their oral hygiene.
